Jak and Daxter PS4 Collection launches next week
Sony has announced via the PlayStation Blog, they are releasing the rest of the Jak and Daxter series on PlayStation 4. Naughty Dog’s Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing will launch on the PlayStation Store on 6th December.
In addition, this release follows on from the PS4 debut of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy which was a pre-order bonus for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Originally, Jak II was released in October 2003 bringing a much darker tone to the franchise. This dark tone came solely from the shooting mechanics which were not present in the first game. Next, Naughty Dog released Jak 3 in November 2004 with a similar tone to Jak II. However, the franchise then had a complete overhaul with Jak X: Combat Racing, a vehicular combat game, that was released in 2005.
Furthermore, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3 were released in high-definition for the PS3. However, this will be the first time gamers can get their hands on Jak X since 2005.
Sony has revealed these games are being up-rendered to 1080p resolution and will feature PlayStation Network Trophy support. Additionally, Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing will be offered individually or as a bundle. Alongside these games, Sony are releasing the Legacy Dashboard Theme on 6th December.
There is currently no word from Sony on pricing for the games individually or for the bundle.
